pleianthum Hance] Family Berberidaceae.
Constituents:Containing
Podophyllotonin, dehydro-Podophyllotoxin, etc.
Actions: The dehydro-Podophyllotonin
at 12.5ug/kg and 6.25ug/kg has a life-extending action on
P388 leukemia of mouse and the value of T/C was 194% and 161%
respectively.
Indications:The
compound prescription was used for treatment of skin, pulmonary
, esophageal, cervical intestinal and nasopharyngeal,carcinoma,
etc.

of esophagus:
Rhizoma et Radix Dysosmae 10g
Pleianthae
Fructus AReeiae 30g
Semen Impatientis 15g
Herba Scutellariae Barbatae 15g
Herba Saluiae Miltiorrhizae 12g
Radix Aristolochiae 10g
Fructus Crataegi 12g
The above prescription was decocted for
oral administration one dose divided into two portions, twice
a day. The prescription was used to treat 178 cases of esophageal
cancers. The results showed that the 25 cases survived over
5 years, 67 cases survived 3~5 years, 72 cases survived 2~3
years. The survival rate of 3 years was 51.6%.
