Sources:The whole plant of Duchesnea indica (Andr.) Focke Family Rosaceae.

Constituents: Containing saponins.

Actions: The water extract of Duchesnea indica (Andr.) Focke 5mg/ml, 10mg/ml and 15mg/ml has obvious inhibiting action against Eca-109 grow- th. The ingibiting rate against cloning formation after 5mg/ml, 10mg/ml, ac- ted 48 hours were 85% and 92% respectively. The cell lost proliferation completely after 15mg/ml acted 48 hours. The ingibiting rate against cell's mitosis after Duchesnea indica Focke 10mg/ml,15mg/ml acted 48 hours were 46% and 49% respectively.

The above herbs were decocted orally adminstered one dose divded into two portions, twice a day. It treated carcinoma of urinary bladoler in 21 cases, the survival rate of 5 years was 90.47%, tumor disappeard in 4 cases, reduced in 6 cases. Most of them showed that it has a promotion action for immunity function.

The above herbs were decocted for oral adminstration, it treated rectal cancer in 5 cases, stage II 1 cases of them has no longer diarrhea and pain, appetite increased after taking medicine for 90 days. All diseases were disappeared after continued taking medicine for 6 months, and still alive for 7 years long.
