Sources:The
root of and whole plant of Dianthus superbus L. Family
Caryophllaceae.
Constituents:Containing
saponin, volatile oil, saccharides, vatamin A,alkaloids, etc.
Actions: The hot
water extract of the radix and semen could inhibit JTC-26
cells with rate of 100% and 90% respectively, the extract
also inhibited JTC-Helas cell line.
Experiments in vivo proved that
the hot water extract of the radix could inhibit Sarcoma180
in mice with a rate of 35.9%.

The decoction of above herbs was taken
daily to trat 10 cases of urinary bladder carcinoma.The results
showed that 4 cases who took the prescription combined with
electric cautery were CR, 3 cases who administered the prescription
alone were remarkable efficacy in 2 cases,
efficacy in 1 case (survived over 10 years), 3 cases of relapse
after electric cautery and administered the drug were effective
(survived for 3~13 years).
