Sources:The
moult of Cryptotympana pustulata Fabricius Family Cicadidea.
Constituents:Contaning
ash, chitin, protein, amino acids, ATpase, organic acid and
anthraquinone, etc.
Actions:The water
extract of Periostracum Cicadae was effective markedly against
EAC, the ED50 was 5mg/kg. The hot water extract of Periostracum
cicadae (500ug/ml) was effective against JTC-26, the inhibiting
rate was 100%; against human fibroblast the inhibiting rate
was 50%.
Indications:It
can be used for treatment of thyroid cancer, leukemia and
meningionma, etc.

The herbs were decocted in water for
oral administration, on dose daily b. i. d. It was used for
treatment of 19 cases of acute granulocytic leukemia patients,
the total remission(CR+PR) rate was 47.4%.
