Sources:The
kernal of seeds of Coix lacryma-jobi L. Family Gramineae.
Constituents:
Containing coixol ,coixolied, amino acids, etc.
Actions: The acetone
and ethanol extract from the the seed could inhibit EAC and
the extract from could also inhibit Yoshida's Sarcoma in rat.
The ethanol extract could induce denaturation of oncocytoplasm
and the other substances of the herb could stop the nucleodivission
at the middle phase. In addition, the coixenolide had been
synthesized and was proved to has anticancer effect.

Semen Coicis 20g
Fructus Trapae 20g
Caulis Wisteriae Sinensis 20g
Fructus Chebulae 20g
The decoction of the herbs was taken
daily 1~2 months as a therapeutic course. A Japanese scholar
had treated 572 cases of the digestive tract cancer, 230 cases
of which have been oral administration as the prescription
as the therapeutic group (containing 119 cases of gastric
cancer and 16 cases of esophageal cancer),and another 342
cases were used as a control group (containing 154 cases of
gastric cancer and 47 cases of esophageal cancer).
The results showed that the relapse rate
of gastric and esophageal cancer in the therapeutic group
was 20% and 31% respectively, while the relapse rate was 39%
and 64% respctively in the control group, The information
was indicated that this prescription had certain a preventive
action on the relapse of cancer.
