Sources:The
kernal of seeds of Coix lacryma-jobi L. var. ma-yuen (Roman.)
Stapf Family Gramineae.
Constituents:
Containing coixenolide, coixol, amino acids, stigmasterol,
Z-¦Â-sitosterol, etc.
Actions: The acetone
extract of the herb at a dose of 515mg/kg ip injection for
7 days, had an inhibitory action against EAC and could prolong
the survival period of mice. In addition, it was effective
on U14 (cervical cancer) and EAC (solid type) of mice too.

Composite prescription for chronic granulocytic
leukemia:
Herba Solani Nigri 30g
Semen Coicis 30g
Rhizoma Dioscoreae Bulbiferae 15g
Fructus Mume 12g
Herba Hedyotis Diffusae 30g
Radix Glycyrrhizae 5g
The decoction of the herbs were taken
twice a day and used to treat 14 cases of chronic granulocytic
leukemia with acute attack, combined with Liu Shen Wan or
Niu Huang Jie Du Pian, 3 cases of which were complete remission
and part remission in 5 cases, with the total effective rate
of 57.1%.
