Constituents:Containing
harringtonine, homoharringtonine, deoxyhaffingt- onine, isoharringtonine
and cephalotoxine, etc.
Actions:Harringtonine
and homoharringtonine were effective against S180, U14, EAC,
ARS, B22, L615, P388, L7212 and W256 murine tumors. Its mechanism
of anticancer action related to the chromosome variation and
mitosis index decreasing , and it inhibited DNA and protein
synthesis of S180 and L1210 cancer cells.
Indications:
It was used for treatment of leukemia, breast, lung and colon
cancers. 259 cases of acutenonlymphocytic leukemia were treated
with harringtonine, the CR rate was 20%, total effective rate
was 72.7%. Treated with homoharringtonine, the CR rate was
22.3%, the total effective rate was 63.8%.
Harringtonine was used for treatment
of 12 cases of polycythemia, the CR rate was 100%, the effect
was speed, maintained for longer time and relapse rate was
less.
