Sources:The
dried body of Buthus martensii Karsch Family Buthidae.
Constituents:
Containing Buthatoxin (a kind of toxic protein was similar
to venin), trimethylamine, betaine, taurine, palmitic acid,
stearic acid, lecithin, amine salt, a kind of active polypeptide
AEP (having the antiepileptic effect) separated and purified
from scopion vemom.
Actions: (1)The
extract of Scorpio was effective against ARS and MA-737, the
life prolonged rate of ARS(ascitic type) mice was extended
12.5%~20.7% than control group.
(2) The Scorpion venom could kill
directly the cancer cells of S180, HepA and EAC, it was effective
aginst S180 and HepA with i.g administration in vivo. The
Scorpion venom component II (SVCII ,4~20ug/ml)could inhibit
the growth and mitosis of HEP-2 cells(human laryngocarcinoma).
Indications:
It was used for treatment of cervix carcinoma, mastadenoma
and angioma,etc.
(1) Scorpio and Fructus Trichosanthis
powder (160g Scorpio was put into twenty-five Fructus Trichosanthis,
dried on the hot tile and ground into five powder, taking
orally 0.3g t.i. dby lukewarm boied water for one week) was
used for treatment of 11 cases of patients suffered from fibroadenoma
of breast, among them 11 cases were recovered; 243 cases of
patient suffered from hyperplasia of lobuli glandulae mammariae
were administered the powder and recovered fully.

The herbs were decocted in water for
oral administion, one dose every day separated into twice
and combined with Yunnan Baiyao 2g. It was used for treatment
of 13 cases of cervix cancer patients, among them one case
survived for over 20 years, 3 cases survived for over 13 years,
4 cases survived for over 8 years, 2 cases survived for over
half year.
