Sources:The
secretions of glands on posterior ears and skin of Bufo
melanostictus Schneider Family Bufonidae.
Constituents:
Containing bufotoxins, bufotenine, bufotenine,serotonine,
cinobufotenine, etc.
Actions:The extract
of venenum Bufo was effective against S180, U14,and HepA murine
tumonrs, the water solution of venenum Bufo has inhibitory
rate of 90% on cells of JTC-26 .
Indications:
(1)The unguent of Bufo: for dermatocarcinoma.
10 grams of Bufo was dissolved in 30ml
of water and mixed with 40 grams of ST unguent for application
to the cancerous lesion. 13 cases of dermatocarcinoma were
treated with the unguent and the cancerous lesion was cured
in all cases.
(2)The wine of toad for leukemia:]
15 live toads (removing the viscera)
were boiled in 1500ml millet wine for 2 hours, then filtrated
out the residue and the broth for oral administration 3 times
a day, 15~30ml esch time.The prescription was used for treatment
of 32 cases of leukemia and found that 8 cases were cured
(the relievable period continued for 2~71 months)and 16 cases
relieved, the total effective rate 75%, the acute granulocyte
leukemia has a best effect (with a total effective rate of
88.8%, cured rate of 33.3%).
