Actions: Studies
in vivo showed that the herb was effective against murine
tumors.
Indications:For
esophageal cancer and gasetric cancer.
(1)The powder of Radix Bombax was used
to treat 29 cases of esophageal cancer (among them the early,
medium and advanced cancers were 17,4 and 8 cases respesectively,
in addition, in the control group, the early, medium and advanced
cancers cancers were 15,6 and 4 cases respectively). The drug
was taken 3 times a day, 166 grams each time.
The results showed that the complete
remission rste was 3.4%, the medium remission period was 48months,
the stble rate was 55%, this effect was similar with the bleomycin
. The follow-up result showed that the survival rate of 5
years was 33.5% in 29 cases, it was only 4.2% in control group
(P<0.0- 1 ) .
(2)Sonthern China Tumor Hospitol adopted
the method of stewing lean pork with the bark of the herb
to treat gastric and esophageal cancer and achieved a total
effective rate of 64%.
