Cucurbitaceae.
Constituents:
Containing maltobiose, matol, sucrose, stigmastanol, palmitic
acid tubeimoside and anticancer component D.E, etc.
Actions:The component
E has inducing differentiation actions against HL-60 cells.
The component D has inhibitory action against S180 and H22
with a dose of 2.5mg/kg for p.o., ip or im. administration,
the inhibiting rate was over 50%. Tubeimoside has inhibitory
action against herpesvirus. Tubei- moside inhibited DTH and
hemolysin formation on mice.
Indications:
It was used for treatment of breast cancer, goiter and wart,
etc.

Herba Taraci and Fructus Forsythiae being
decoced in water and other drugs being triturated into powder
then water-paste pills were prepared. The pills were taken
with a dose of 6g thrice daily for oral administration to
treat 5 cases of breast cancer, the clinical result showed
that 4 cases of the patients were complete remission, 1 case
of the patient was improvement.
(1)The liniment of Tubeimoside was painted
2 to 4 times daily to treat 44 cases of wart. Tubeimoside
was injected im 2mg to treat 57 cases. Painting combined with
injection treated 151 cases. The total cases 252. The clinical
result showed that the cases of cure, remarkable effectiveness,
impronement and ineffect were 219, 21,8 and 4 respectively.
The total effective rate was 98.4%.
