Sources:The
volatile oil product of Blumea balsamifera (L.) DC.
Family Compositae.
Constituents:Containing
borneol, cineole, limonene, camphor, etc.
Actions: Cold
drying product of the herb which dissolving in hot water has
inhibitory action against JTC-26 cells in vitro, the inhibitory
rates were 50%~70% at dose of 500ug/ml. Fufangyingguang ji
(Experimental formula was prepared by the herb and Flos Carthami)
has anti-cancer action in vitro.
Indications:It
was mainly used to treat pain induced by tumors. Also used
to treatesophageal, gastric, nasopharyngeal and breast cancer.
Tinctura was made from which 30g of the herb dissolved in
500g white spirit, It was daubed at lesion of skin to treat
pain induced by advanced cancers, more than 10 times daily
for 40 cases, relieved pain was in 33 cases and inefficacy
was in 7 cases.
