Constituents:Containingscleerotin,chitin,wax,shellac,proteinase,amylase, lipase and maltase,etc.

Actions:
The AT-2 extracted from the insect was effective against S180 and S37 tumors on mouse, the inhibiting rates were 44%~52% and 34%~42.7% respectively. The oil extracted from the insect ip. 0.4g/kg¡Á10d,the inhibiting rate against S180 was 39%~45%,sc.0.1ml/10g was effective against human esophageal carcinoma (renal subcapsular tumor inoculation method),the effect was similar to 0.025g/kg of 5-FU.

Indications: In clinic, AT-2 was used to treat median stage and advanced liver cancer patients.The 49 cases were compared with 46 cases (treated with chemotherapy and Chinese medicine) as control group. AT-2 was administered with 6~8 tabs t.i.d. for one month. The results showed that in AT-2 group,PR rate was 2%, median period of PR was 6.6 months,stable rate was 55.1%.

The average life span in TA-2 group was 9.75 months, the half and one year survival rates were 31.9% and 14.9%; in control group, were 7.03 months and 8.7%, 0% respectively. The differences between the two groups (P<0.05) were significant. The symptoms improvement in TA-2 group were better than that of control group, such as, the alleviation of pain liver area, the improvement of fatingue and the reduction of hepatomegaly.In TA-2 group, the AFP test showed that its AFP turning negative or decreasing rates were 23.5%,but in control group was 0%,in AT-2 group, the platelets,WBC and lymphocyte blastogenesis were increased,as well.
