Sources:The
tuber of roots of Asparagus cochinchinensis (Lour.) Merr.
Family Liliaceae.
Constituents:
Containing asparagine, b-sitosterol, 5-methylfufural, etc.
Actions:In vivo
test showed that the herb inhibited cellular respiration and
dehydrogenase activity of human acute lymphatic, chronic granulocytic
and acute monocytic leukemia cells. In vivo test showed that
the herb has action against S180. The alcohol extract of the
herb has action against human tumors, 51%~100% of tumorous
cells showed morphologic changes.
Indications:
It was used for treatment of lymphatic tumor and breast tumor,
etc.
(1)The herb and its tablets or injection
were all used to treat benign breats tumors.
(2)The injection or tablets were used
to trrat 119 cases of various tumors with 10g iv twice daily
for a treatment course of 30 to 40 days or 3 months (the longest
course) or 10 to20g was injected by arterial catheter if lymphatic
tumors treated. Herba Hedyotis Diffusae was adminisered 8g
im. twice daily. The clinical result in short -term showed
that the symptoms disappeared and has remarkable effect and
effectiveness in 100 cases, effective rate was 84%. There
were 52 cases of breast tumor among the 100 cases, in short-term,
cure, remarkable effect, effectiveness and inefficacy were
in 34, 12, 3 and 3 cases of the breast tumors. The effective
rate was 94%.
(3) The injectio produced by the herb
and herb of Spreading Hedyotis administered iv to treat 53
cases of lymphoma combined with chemotherapy, the clinical
cure and remarkable effect were in 31 and 22 cases which survived
for more than 3 years were in 46 cases.
(4) In addition, the herb and herb of
Speading Hedyotis used alone to treat 23 cases of lymphoma
and the total effective rate was 82.5%. The merits of the
drugs therapy comparecd with other anticancer drugs were non-inhibition
for hematopoietic system and has no adverse reaction. The
two herbs also have effect to the cases that has drug resistance.
