Sources:The
fruit of Aristolochia contorta Bge. Family Aristolochiaceae.
Constituents:
Containing essential oil, aristolochic acid, allantoin, debilic
acid, etc.
Actions:
(1) Experiments in vitro showed
that the water extract of the herb has an inhibiting action
on JTC-26 with the inhibitory rate of 50% to 70%.
(2)Experiments in vivo proved that
aristolochic acid with a dose of 2.5 to 5mg/kg subcutaneously
injected to S37 for 3 days, the inhibitory rate was 40% to
50%.
Indications:
(1)For the adjuvant of chemotherapy and
radiotherapy of cancer.
The aristolochic acid combined with chemotherapy
and radiotherapy was used to treat 56 cases of cancer patients.
The results showed that 54 cases maitained stable of the leuocyte
count, therefor the treatment could continued.
(2)For radiation rectitis.

The decotin of above herbs was used to
treat 9 cases of radiation rectitis which induced by60Co extra
radiation and Ra interior radiation for cervical carcinoma.
The results showed that 5 cases among them were cured and
4 cases were remarkable efficacy.
