Sources:The
root of Arctium lappa L. Family Compositae.
Constituents:
Containing arctigerin, arctin, organic acid,etc.
Actions: Studies
in vitro proved that the hot water extract of Fructus et Radix
Arctii at a dose of 500 ug/ml, in the medium was kept under
37'C for 134 hours, the results showed that the herb could
inhibited the proliferation of JTC-26 with a rate of 90%.
Tests in vivo showed that arctigerin had an inhibitory effect
against S180 and S37 at a dose of 500mg/kg for 10 days, the
inhibitory rates were 59% and 375 respectively. In addition,
arctigerin could inhibited the growth of NK lymphocancer with
a rate of 50%.
Indications:
(1)For cancerous edema:
Fructus Arctii(60g)was fried and ground into powder for oral
adminisration, 6 grams three times daily.
(2)For malignant lymphoma:
Radix Arctii 15g
Radix Trichosanthis 15g
Radix Bupleuri 9g
Rhizoma Bolbostemmae 12g
Radix Sophorse Tonkinensis 30g
Rhizoma Smilacis Glabrae 30g
Nidus Polistis Mandarini 30g
Radix Isaidis 30g
Radix Scrophuariae 30g
Herba Bidentis Tripartitae 30g
Herba Euphorbiae Humifusae 30g
Fructus Forsythiae 30g
The above herbs were decocted for oral
taking daily.
(3)For rectal cancer:
Radix Arctii 70%
Radix Angelicae Sinensis 7.5%
Semen Phaseoli 7.5%
Rhizoma et Radix Rhei 7.5%
Herba Taraxaci 7.5%
All the herbs were ground to powder to
be taken with warm water twice a day, each time 6 grams.
