whole plant of Andrographis paniculata (Burm. f.) Ness
Family Acanthaceae.
Constituents:
Containing andrographolied, neo-androgropholied, deoxyandrographolied,
andrographan, andrographon, paniculawachs, etc.
Actions:Deoxyandrographolied
has remarkable inhibitory effect against W256 on rats, the
inhibiting rates were 35%~53%.Rabbits that have gotten pregnant
for 8 days, were sdministrated deoxyandrographolied with a
dose of 0.2mg/kg by intravenous injection 10 times. The result
showed that the drug has a action against trophocyte, thus
suggested that the drug may be used to treat choriocarcinoma
and malignant mole. Andrographolide selenide had a inhibitory
action against S180, the inhibiting rates were 75%~88%.
Indications:
It was used for treatment of choriocarcinoma and molignant
mole. To take solution of herb of Common Andrographis (containing
1% chloroform extract of the herb) 100~150ml, and diluted
with equal volume of 5% glucose solution, administrated by
intravenous drip for 2 to 4 courses of treatment to treat
45 cases of the patients(part cases taking operative treatment).
The clincal results showed that CR were in 39 cases and the
CR rate was 80.6%. The herb combined with a low dosage of
chemotherapeutic drugs(e.g.5-Fu 15mg/kg.d)treated 55 cases
of advanced cancer including 30 cases of choriocarcinoma,
CR rate was 92%. In above 100 cases of choriocarcinoma and
malignant mole, long term followed -up survey to 97 cases,
in 79 cases of CR patient, the cases survived over 3, 5, 10
years were 71, 55, 13 respectively.
