Sources:The
rhizoma of Acorus gramineus Soland. Family Araceae.
Constituents:
Containing volatile oil, such as a-asarone, -asarone, etc.
Actions: Experiments
in vitro verified that the 20% decoction of the herb could
kill the EAC ascites cells of mice and the water extract of
the herb at a dose of 5mg/ml could kill HL-60 cells. In addition
a-asarone had an inhi- bitory action against Hela cell, human
metastasis of lung carcinoma D6 st- rain and human gastric
carcinoma SGC-7901 Strain. Studies in vivo show- ed that the
volatile oil of the herb in oral route or intraperitoneal
injection on Sarcoma180 and Hepatoma of mice had a remarkable
inhibitory action.
Indications:According
to the recommened of the Journal of Shanghai Traditional Chinese
Medicine (vol 9 1986), The herb combined with the "777"
syrupus is composed of the following herbs:
Rhizoma Acori Tatarinowii 9g
Radix Angelicae Sinensis 9g
Fructus Corni 9g
Rhizoma pinelliae Preparata 15g
Rhizoma Arisaematis Preparata 15g
Radix Paeoniae Rubra 10g
The syrup was taken 3 times a day, 30ml
each time and used to treat 213 cases of intracranial tumor,
29 cases among them were after surgery. The results showed
that the survival rate for 5 years was 29.7% (19/64), 3 years
was 34.9%(29/83) and 1 years was 71.8% (141/198). In addition
, the clinical symptoms were improved or eliminated.
